Summer Night Walk – Hosted by Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary
July 11, 2019 @ 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Experience the music of the swamp after-dark on one of Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary’s most memorable experiences. Enjoy a night in the swamp on this Audubon Naturalist guided walk which brings you into the swamp when the nocturnal animals are out and vocal. You never know what you will hear or see on a visit to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary but a summer night should bring the sounds of calling frogs and insects, possibly owls and alligators and most likely a surprise or two! You will learn also about the nocturnal biodiversity of the swamp.
Your Naturalist will meet you in our parking lot fifteen minutes prior to the departure time. We will be walking the entire boardwalk (2 miles in length) while enjoying the sunset and the night sky. But even if the clouds obscure the night sky, the sounds of the swamp will make this an evening you won’t soon forget.
*Participants should not bring white-light flashlights, as those ruin everyone’s night vision. We will have red-light flashlights that we will bring along in case we want to use them.
Registration Limit: 10 participants.
Participants must be age 12 or older. Children aged 12 or older are welcome on this walk, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
