Night Sky Program

Are you looking for a stellar way to enjoy an evening outside? Join Park Rangers and Amateur Astronomers to view the amazing dark skies in Big Cypress National Preserve.
The 45 minute interpretive program will begin promptly at 7:00 pm followed by telescope viewing. This event is free and open to the public – no reservations necessary.
Please arrive by 6:30 pm to find a parking spot and get comfortable. You will be asked to turn down your car headlights to enter the parking area.
In the case of inclement weather or cloud cover, we will conduct a powerpoint program inside our auditorium at the Welcome Center, which has limited seating. Be sure to check weather conditions before venturing out. Call to inquire about updates or possible cancellations, 239-695-1149.
What to Bring?
Chairs or blankets, bug spray, a flashlight with a red lens and dress for the weather.
